From looking to knowing: Eye tracking and spatial decisions

What can your eyes reveal about the way you think, learn and make decisions? Every glance tells a story about what captures our attention, how we explore our surroundings and how we build knowledge about the world.

At the geoGAZElab, researchers use eye tracking technology to better understand how people perceive information and make decisions in space.

At our booth, you can discover these hidden processes for yourself. Try interactive demonstrations, see your own gaze displayed in real time and explore how looking turns into knowing.

Step into virtual reality and test a digital training system for airline cabin crews, developed with our industry partner Lufthansa Aviation Training. Find out how eye tracking helps researchers understand how trainees explore an aircraft cabin and identify safety critical information.

In another demonstration, you can create 3D sketch maps in virtual reality and discover how people represent spatial knowledge. You can also try mobile eye tracking glasses and see how your visual attention changes as you move and make decisions.

Together, these experiences show how researchers study and support spatial decision-making in everyday life and professional contexts.
